Hoopwood, Poles & Rough Wooden Stakes

**Greece Sees Surge in Hoopwood Imports Amid Construction Boom**

**Construction sector’s demand for raw materials drives imports growth**

* Greece’s hoopwood imports rose 12.5% in June compared to the same month last year, driven by increased construction activity.
* The majority of these imports (85%) came from countries with lower logging costs and abundant supply, such as Turkey and Bulgaria.
* As a result, prices for hoopwood in the Greek market have eased, dropping by 4.5% in June compared to May.

Greece’s construction sector is experiencing a boom, driven by government investment in infrastructure projects and private sector demand for housing. This increased activity has led to higher imports of raw materials such as hoopwood, which is used extensively in building frames and foundations. As supply chains adjust to meet this growing demand, prices have begun to stabilize. However, concerns remain about the sustainability of these trends in the face of ongoing global economic uncertainty.
