**Greece Sees Rise in Import of Exotic Animal Leathers**
**Finished leathers from non-traditional sources gain traction in European market**
• Greek import volume of finished leather from animals other than cattle increased by 15.6% year-over-year in Q2.
• Average price per kilogram rose to €25.38, a 12.5% hike from last quarter due to seasonal demand and supply chain adjustments.
• Most imports originated from countries such as Argentina and South Africa, where exotic animal leather production has been expanding.
Greece’s import of finished leather from animals other than cattle continues its upward trend in the second quarter, driven by increasing demand for unique materials in the European market. This surge is partly attributed to the seasonal boost in production from suppliers in regions like South America, who are also diversifying their product offerings to cater to a broader range of buyers.
